NFCCA’s 2026 Yard Sale!
The 5th Annual NFCCA Neighborhood Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, 16 May 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
(Rain date: Sunday, 17 May 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
If you’d like to participate and have your house number listed on the map, please use the link below to sign up. Registration closes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 8 May 2026.
Those who sign up by Friday, 8 May, will have their addresses and the
top three categories of items they’re selling listed on the map and
participant list (see link above). If you miss the deadline but still want
to join, you’re welcome to set up your sale on your lawn, you just
won’t be on the map.
To have your house included on the yard sale map, please sign up using the link
above. If you sign up before 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 8 May, your address and the
top three categories of items you’re selling will be listed on the map and
participant list. If you miss the deadline but still want to join,
you’re welcome to set up your sale on your lawn! If you’re only
offering free items, please sign up anyway; you can mention this in the note for
your location. All participants will receive an emailed copy of the map a few
days before the event. You can print your own copies to distribute, display,
or keep for yourself. The map will also be available on this website before
the sale.
A reminder: This is your personal yard sale, so feel free to sell or give
away items as you choose. You will also be responsible for handling any money
from your sale. Below are tips, marketing details, and setup suggestions to
help make your sale a success!
Marketing
Julie and Karen will promote the event across various platforms (Nextdoor,
yardsalesearch.com, Craigslist, Facebook, yardsales.net, garagesalefinder.com,
etc.), as well as on the NFCCA listserv and other channels. Yard sale signs
will be placed around the neighborhood. Feel free to add your own signs if
you’d like, but keep in mind we can’t place a sign on every street.
If you’d like to add one near your street or cross street, please do so!
Setting Up for the Yard Sale
The yard sale starts at
9:00 a.m. but be prepared for early birds who arrive much
earlier! Set up your items by 9:00 a.m. using tables, boxes, blankets, or even
just on the ground. Display your items in an organized way — by type,
price, or any method that works best for you. If you don’t have tables,
you can use creative setups like ladders, wooden pallets, or plastic crates.
Other essentials to have on hand:
- Shopping bags for your buyers
- Extension cords (for electronics, to prove they work)
- Trash cans
- Tape
- A fanny pack to hold your money
- A mirror (for clothes)
- A notebook for tracking sales
- Black Sharpie
- Hand sanitizer
Consider using balloons or streamers to attract attention to your sale.
Price everything clearly with stickers or sticky notes. If you’re giving items away, create a “FREE ITEMS” area.
Important Reminder
The sale runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and we ask that you remain open during
these hours. You’re welcome to stay open longer if you’d
like. For a smooth experience, kindly avoid letting customers inside your
home. If anyone asks to use the restroom, kindly direct them to
Four Corners. If you’re unable to stay open until 1:00 p.m.,
that’s perfectly fine, and there’s no need to notify us!
Pricing Help
If you’re selling books, use the
Bookscouter app to scan ISBNs and check
prices instantly.
eBay is also a great resource for pricing. If
you’re giving away items for free, that’s completely fine, too!
If you have unsold items, many local charities — including
The Salvation Army, Goodwill, AMVETS, Habitat for Humanity, and The Arc —
offer free pickups. You can visit their websites for details on what they
accept.
Methods of Payment
Most customers will have cash, but you may also encounter people who prefer other
payment methods. If you’re only accepting cash, display a small sign to
let them know. It’s a good idea to bring plenty of
change (from the
bank), including
quarters for items under $1. Other payment options like
Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, Google Pay, or
checks are also welcome. Whatever works
for you! Consider posting your accepted payment methods in your yard.
Map of Participating Homes
The map (and list) of participating homes will be available a few days before the sale on this website. Feel free to print copies to share with customers and
encourage them to visit other participating homes!
Finally, if you don’t have items to sell or give away, take this
opportunity to stroll through the neighborhood and discover the hidden treasures
your neighbors may have!
