North Four Corners News ♦ February 2023
Two speakers are scheduled for NFCCA’s 8 February meeting. First, speaking 7:30 to 8:10 only, is Kristin Mink, who was elected in November to serve on the County Council for (our) District 5, taking office last month.
Mink serves on the Education and Culture Committee (issues relating to schools, literacy, the arts, and libraries) and the Public Safety Committee (covering the police department, courts, fire and rescue services, homeland security, animal control, and consumer protection).
Second up is Larissa Johnson, residential energy program manager for the energy, climate, and compliance division of the County Department of Environmental Protection. Her presentation discussing the programs of the Montgomery Energy Connection will be from 8:15 to 8:45 p.m. Montgomery Energy Connection is a network of County Government and community partners whose goal is to provide education about energy efficiency, the availability of programs, and opportunities for assistance.
Johnson will also hold a light bulb exchange, so bring your old incandescent and used CFL lightbulbs to exchange them for energy-efficient LED (light emitting diode) bulbs. ■
