Welcome summer this Sunday, 3:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the corner of Margate Road and Snowy Owl Drive at our second annual Margate Mania neighborhood Pride party, this year colliding with World Cup celebration. We are going with a rainbows + flags theme this year! This is a potluck block party, so bring some food and/or drinks to share. The fabulous neighborhood Dad band, MiddleMatic, will be performing. There will be lawn games for the kids! We recommend bringing chairs. MARGATE WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN SNOWY OWL AND LOMBARDY. All neighbors are invited! Yes, you! If you haven’t come to an upper Margate block party yet, come see what you’ve been missing!
This all-ages summer party bike ride continues this year. Ride your bike to the lower field closest to the playground at North Four Corners Local Park (entrances where Southwood Avenue and Edgewood Road intersect, off Royalton Terrace, or at 315 University Boulevard West), where the party will start. There will be a water battle at the park after the ride for those who want to participate; some water soakers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! RSVP to Ema at 703.400.9560 (el habla español).
