First-Ever Chili Cook-Off Nets NFCCA Over $550

By Jacquie Bokow

Hundreds of people turned out on Sunday, 5 March, for NFCCA’s first-ever chili cook-off fundraiser.  Attendees tasted the twelve recipes and voted (as many times as they had tickets) for their favorite.  Congratulations to Andrew Fremming (Lombardy) who won first place with his flavorful lamb Mountain Man Chili.  “JSmith2” (Julie and Jason Smith, Lorain) came in second and Christoph Keller (Cavalier) third.

This was a fundraiser for the NFCCA, which cleared $558.36!  (Next year, we won’t rent the FKES kitchen, which cost us $384.  We’re learning!) Thanks so much to the twelve Chili Masters who shared their skills with us and to the many who came and enjoyed the food, music, and camaraderie.  See you next year!   ■
