RainScapes Rebate Portal Open 1 February

The RainScapes Rebate Program application portal of the Montgomery Countys Department of Environmental Protection will reopen on Wednesday, 1 February.  The portal will have information on installing a RainScapes landscape and will offer guidance on selecting the right type of project to get started.  However, the portal will only be open through 31 March.

A RainScape is a landscape or design technique that helps reduce stormwater runoff from individual properties.  These include:

• rain gardens,
• conservation landscapes,
• green roofs,
• water harvesting,
• permeable pavement, and
• pavement removal.

RainScapes can be installed on any kind of property, but those on private residential, institutional, or commercial properties may be eligible for financial assistance.  Rebates for projects on residential properties could be eligible for rebates up to $7,500.   ■
