NFCCA Elections on 11 October

Each October, NFCCA holds its annual membership meeting where we select a Board of Directors and officers.  There currently are four officers — President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer — plus three at-large members.  The term of office runs from October to October.

The Board meets five times a year (September, November, January, March, and May) in one of the Board members’ homes.  At these meetings, we discuss any issues we expect to come up at the next members’ meeting and plan articles for the upcoming newsletter.

The Board also functions as an executive committee, responding to issues that come up in between members’ meetings.  This is an important function, because we often have a very short window for input into governmental decisions.

Our board frequently contributes articles for this newsletter, but that’s not a mandatory duty.  Board members also collaborate to set up meetings and special events like the annual National Night Out celebrations.

Our job descriptions are simple and the rewards are many:

If you’re interested in being considered for an open slot, contact NFCCA President David Rotenstein at president at nfcca dot org at least three days before the October 11 meeting. You will be asked to introduce yourself at the meeting and tell folks a little bit about who you are and why you want to serve.

Only paid NFCCA members may vote.  Contact Treasurer Sondra Katz at treasurer at nfcca dot org to ensure that you are paid up ahead of the meeting.   ■
