Northwood News ♦ February 2005
We live in the 10400 block of Edgewood Avenue. On 11 December 2005, we were at home working on a home renovation project. My husband had set up his chop saw on the front porch and was cutting wood and bringing it into the basement.
At one point, around 4:00 p.m., we were in the house and had the sander on so we couldn’t hear anything outside. A car pulled up in front of the house and a guy got out, ran up onto the porch, and took the saw, which was mounted on a base and was quite large.
A neighbor witnessed the theft and called the police, assuming that we were not at home. They have a tag number and are investigating. So far, we have heard nothing, so we assume the saw is long gone.
I think that folks in the neighborhood should know that this type of bold, daylight crime has happened here. We need to be ever more careful in securing our belongings.
