Burnt Mills Shopping Center to Open in Mid-April

By Jacquie Bokow

Jon Rhodes, Finmarc Management’s property manager for the Burnt Mills Shopping Center, indicated that the Center will open about the middle of April.  It will “depend on getting the stoplight in there,” he said, which will be installed by the county.  Severe weather also could delay construction.

Finmarc is still looking for one or two stores for the main level, as well as something — perhaps another restaurant — for the southern end on the second level above the California Tortilla eatery.

Finmarc co-owner Marc Solomon confirmed that “Chico’s is a done deal” and that a hair salon will open, to be run by “experienced hair salon operators leaving their existing shop and opening their own.”

Solomon said they had tried to get an ice cream parlor in the Center, which he felt would be successful, but that a store size of 1,700 square feet is “too large a space” for most ice cream parlors, which “typically want 1,000 square feet or less.”

Finmarc is still seeking suggestions as to what our community would like, so call me [contact details redacted] with your suggestions and I’ll pass them along!   ■
