Stories from the NFCCA Newsletter, the “Northwood News” |
Earlier this year, the NFCCA membership passed consensus resolutions requesting new sidewalks for Lorain Avenue, Sutherland Avenue, and Eastwood Avenue and voicing support with conditions for sidewalks on both sides of Colesville Road between Burnt Mills Avenue and Lorain. During the summer, the NFCCA board followed up with the sidewalks program of the county’s Department of Public Works and Transportation. DPWT, as a result, has moved the request for the back neighborhood sidewalks up in priority.
In July, an engineer from the program reviewed the site conditions, took measurements, and recommended that the request be approved. He reported then that construction could begin as early as March 2002.
The Colesville Road sidewalk project is still in the planning stages but is moving forward. DPWT has not yet responded to our letter in conditional support of the project but we may have updated information by our October meeting. ■
