North Four Corners News ♦ February 2026
The Forest Knolls Elementary multipurpose room was bustling on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, as more than 100 neighbors gathered for our Winter Holiday Social.
A BIG shout out goes to Rebecca Pagel for organizing the first-ever NFCCA Hot Chocolate Competition, which raised over $400 for our neighborhood. Six creative entries featured festive twists like spice, eggnog, peppermint, orange, and raspberry flavors. Briana Teller’s delicious hot chocolate eggnog won!
Families enjoyed balloon candy canes, creatures, and funny hats as a balloon artist made his NFCCA debut. This came with the occasional “pop!” that startled a few of us from time to time, but everything worked out okay. Games and activities kept children busy throughout the evening.
NFCCA carolers opened the night with a round of seasonal songs and, later, the McKim Family Singers performed a nice set featuring both vocals and instruments. Six neighborhood vendors showcased beautiful displays of products including paintings, cards, jewelry, nail polish, wreaths, and collectibles, that were all available for purchase.
Donations were taken for Manna Food Center. While contributions were about half of last December’s total, there was still a generous assortment of pasta, beans, and other pantry staples.
Neighbors generously brought appetizers and treats. They disappeared by the end of the night as everyone shared the goodies while enjoying their hot chocolate and watching a slideshow highlighting memorable moments from 2025 community events.
The Winter Holiday Social was a wonderful way for neighbors to connect, and there are already great ideas in the works for next December.
