Dedicated Bus Lane Pilot on University Boulevard Under Construction

Installation of MCDOT’s dedicated bus lane pilot on University Boulevard between Amherst Avenue and Dennis Avenue has begun.  The pavement where the bus lane will run has been painted already from Amherst Avenue to Sligo Creek parkway going east and will ultimately run to Dennis Avenue and along the westbound curb lane for the same stretch of highway.

Bicyclists will also be permitted to ride in the dedicated bus lanes.  To make a turn into the neighborhood, drivers will be allowed to move into the bus lane within 100 feet of their turn.  The bus lane pilot does not involve any changes to existing properties, parking, or loading.
