Stories from the NFCCA Newsletter, the “Northwood News” |
In early March, resurfacing equipment belonging to Montgomery County Department of Transportation contractor F.O. Day returned to our neighborhood. At the same time, marks began appearing on sidewalk corners indicating places where new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps would be built.
Work to complete the deep patching resumed in the southern portion of Northwood Park before the late winter storm halted work for the week of St. Patrick’s Day. The equipment was moved to Lockridge Drive (photo) and parked until the inclement weather ended and temperatures returned to points sufficiently above freezing to allow work to resume.
Once all of the deep patching is finished, the crews will resurface all of the streets in the neighborhood using hot mix asphalt. Information provided by MCDOT indicates that the work will take up to three months to complete. For additional information about the project and MCDOT contacts, go to the Division of Highways website. ■
