President’s Message

Another sizzling Silver Spring summer is thankfully behind us and now the lovely autumn season is here once more.  Since my last message, two new families have moved into my street on Edgewood Avenue and another two families round the corner on Southwood.  Once they’ve settled in, I expect they will be eager to join our civic association!  If not, my wife Fiona and I will certainly do our best to encourage them….

I missed the neighborhood Night Out as I was in Ireland visiting with my wife’s family, but I heard that, despite the pool being off limits due to a “stool in the pool” incident, the evening was a success (see story).  Looking forward to seeing you all at our next civic meeting on 10 October.  Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet your neighbors, not to mention the home-made treats or having a chance to win one of our exciting raffle prizes!   ■
