Fajita Coast Restaurant Moved to Downtown Silver Spring

By Jacquie Bokow

If you haven’t eaten at Fajita Coast recently, you’ll find it’s long gone.  The popular Four Corners restaurant closed Sunday, 26 February, and reopened two days later at 1115 East-West Highway in downtown Silver Spring with the same menu and hours.

The kid-friendly, tasty Tex-Mex restaurant closed in February.

I spoke with co-owner/manager J.J. Beltran, who was sad about leaving the Four Corners location.  “I live on Franklin; I went to Blair [class of ’93].  I lived in the neighborhood a long time.  I could even walk to work!”

Beltran was very reluctant to speak about the reasons for the move, but indicated “problems with the landlord” was the main cause.

Fajita Coast’s new digs on East-West Highway are surrounded by high-rise apartment buildings sure to bring customers.

To find the new Fajita Coast, drive south on Georgia Avenue from Colesville Road, turn right onto East-West Highway (just after you go under the train bridge); it’s halfway down the block to your right, with a large outdoor eating patio for nice weather.

“There’s a lot of parking,” said Beltran.  “There’s a county lot” you’ll find if you drive past the eatery on your right, take the next right, Blair Mill Way, then the next left, Blair Mill Road; the lot’s staight ahead.

Beltran was thankful that Four Corners customers are coming to the new space.  “I’m seeing 95, 100 percent of our customers here,” he said.  “I really appreciate their loyalty.”   ■
