Northwood News ♦ February 2005
Sam Kugler’s House of Linens is moving out of the Woodmoor Shopping Center. I spoke with Amanda Deshautell, the owner’s assistant, who said the move was entirely Kugler’s idea. “There’s no definite date yet,” she said. The store at Woodmoor “will stay open a few extra months” beyond the move, which will be “probably in June.”
Kugler’s will move to “a bigger location,” said Deshautell, to & #8220;Industrial Parkway and Tech Road, across from the VEIP” emissions testing station just off Route 29.
But what’s to occupy the vacated space? I asked Ken Baker, manager of Woodmoor for First Washington Realty Trust, Inc. (Bethesda, Md.).
According to Baker, they have yet to sign a new tenant, but they would welcome input from the community as to what we’d like to see there. (I immediately mentioned an ice cream parlor, but he thought the Kugler’s space would be too large.) Baker invited community members to call Marty Flax of First Washington’s leasing department for Woodmoor (301.907.7800) to tell him what you want. (Or residents can call me, and I’ll pass it on.) ■
